Radiology (Imaging)

As the leading healthcare provider in the area, MercyOne Centerville Medical Center continues to invest in new equipment and technology upgrades to provide the highest level of imaging services in the region.

Along with our Board Certified Radiologists from Diagnostic Imaging Associates, our imaging staff consisting of Registered CT, MR, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Radiologic Technologists work to provide the best imaging studies for our patients. Board certified DIA radiologists provide us with 24-7 coverage, 365 days a year.

Computed Tomography

CT studies at Mercy Medical Center are performed on a Toshiba Aquilion 64-slice CT scanner. The CT machine scans and reconstructs images much faster than previous technology while producing much higher image quality. Benefits to patients include shorter scan times and less radiation exposure.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

MercyOne’s 1.5 Tesla GE Signa MRI provides our patients with quality MR images. This modality allows us to perform non-invasive imaging to detect and differentiate types of strokes, as well as perform a whole host of other types of procedures.

Nuclear Medicine

Mobile gamma camera services allows Nuclear Medicine studies to be offered at MercyOne Centerville Medical Center including Cardiolite Stress tests including wall-motion studies and ejection fractions, HIDA studies, bone scans, thyroid imaging, renal scans and MUGA studies.

Mammography

MercyOne Centerville Medical Center’s Imaging Services Department offers a revolutionary new mammography system. The Hologic Dimensions offers top of the line technology in Full Field Digital Mammography as well as excellent image quality. Another benefit is a one third reduction in dose of radiation to the breast over conventional radiography. All mammograms performed at Mercy Medical Center analyzed R2 CAD (computer-aided detection) system. CAD is a computer-based process designed to analyze mammographic images for suspicious areas.

Fluoroscopy Mercy

The Medical Center utilizes a Toshiba Efficiency 650 radiographic and fluoroscopic room. This technology is used to perform: Upper and Lower GI studies, IVP, Barium Swallow studies, VCUG, and various other procedures.

MercyOne Imaging also utilizes a Mobile C-arm. This unit is primarily used in the surgical suite for orthopedic and abdominal imaging.

Ultrasonography

In 2010, MercyOne Centerville Medical Center purchased a new Toshiba Aplio Ultrasound machine. The Aplio MX is a state of the art ultrasound machine capable of advanced ultrasound imaging studies such as: Echocardiograms, carotid and peripheral vascular testing. Abdominal, Breast, and OB/GYN imaging.

Bone Densitometry

MercyOne Centerville Medical Center Imaging utilizes a GE Lunar bone densitometer (DEXA scanner), which measures bone density painlessly. The bone densitometer uses small amounts of x-ray to produce images of the spine, hip, or even the whole body.
