MercyOne Clinton Medical Center’s Ostomy Outpatient Services provide compassionate and comprehensive care that will help to improve overall well-being and quality of life.

Board Certified Wound, Ostomy and Foot Care Nurse Jodie Atkinson brings expert knowledge and specialized ostomy care to residents of the bi-state region.

Triple board certification demonstrates Jodie’s ongoing personal commitment to specialty education and professional growth that leads to the highest quality of patient care. Board certification is a voluntary process for clinical professionals to ensure patients receive:

• Clinical expertise
• Specialized care
• Health education
• Experience and knowledge

Seeing patients for concerns related to:

• Colostomy, ileostomy and urostomy pre- and post-operative education and instruction
• Changes in stoma color, shape, size and length
• Changes in stoma output/function
• Pouching difficulties, including leakage or lack of adherence
• Skin rash, irritation or wounds near stoma
• Assistance with ostomy supply ordering set-up
• Peristomal hernia support belts
• Colostomy irrigation
