Family Medicine Rural Residency

MercyOne Des Moines is in the second year of a program that represents an expansion of MercyOne’s existing family medicine residency program, which has been training residents since 1997. The program will admit two residents into the program annually. The MercyOne Des Moines Family Medicine Rural Residency Program is designed to increase accredited residency training in family medicine in rural areas throughout the state of Iowa. You will receive a diverse education in all areas of medicine from Adult to Maternal and child, behavioral health, to surgery and plenty of community medicine. At MercyOne Des Moines training will include rotations in ICU, Cardiac ICU, the state’s busiest emergency department, and labor and delivery settings.
