Des Moines, Health and Wellness - Continuing Education (CE)
MercyOne is now a regional health ministry (RHM) of Trinity Health, based in Livonia, Michigan. We have transitioned to Trinity Health’s Department of Continuing Education/Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) platform. As of January 2023, all MercyOne continuing education (CE) requests is approved and provided through Trinity Health.
Trinity Health’s Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) allows you the opportunity to simultaneously apply for credits for multiple professions through one application.
Accreditations include:
- Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (APCE)
Program requirements:
Applications must be submitted 90 days* prior to the start of the program for MercyOne CE applicants, and 120 days for Joint Providership applicants (see below for fees).
*If you have an ongoing program, you may still submit the application for CE approval for the dates 90 days from application submission. The dates falling within the 90 days will not have time to be approved for CE credit.
After CE approval: Programs with continual date changes will be locked into the dates after the 2nd change. Please be mindful of your dates and check them early and confirm the change with the activity director/activity coordinator before submitting them to the IPCE Office.
Important updates to IBON approved CEs 2022-2023:
All nursing CEs previously approved through MercyOne’s previous IBON providership for any part of 2023 needs new approval through Trinity Health, using the application link.
Your 2023 program CEs are not valid unless approved through the Trinity Health Department of Continuing Education/Interprofessional Continuing Education office.

Joint providerships (requesting MercyOne as your CE provider):
- The Trinity Health joint providership application fee is $500, with additional fees depending on program length, frequency, audience size, and number of continuing education credits.

- The Trinity Health Department of Continuing Education/Interprofessional Continuing Education office will contact you after reviewing the application to discuss fees and contract.
