Tarun Kumar, MD, FACS, is a pediatric surgeon at MercyOne Pediatric Surgery. Before joining MercyOne in 2012, he was a staff surgeon in pediatric surgery at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children Medical Center and St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis. He also served as an assistant professor of surgery in the Department of Surgery in the School of Medicine at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children Medical Center.
Dr. Kumar earned his medical degree from R.N.T. Medical College in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. He completed an internship at R.N.T. Medical College and a residency in general surgery at Ravindranath Tagore Medical College and Associated Group of Hospitals in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Dr. Kumar completed pediatric surgery residency training at L.T. Medical College & General Hospital in Sion, Mumbai, India, and he completed his pediatric surgery/pediatric minimally invasive surgery training at LeBonheur Children Medical Center at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
