About this event

All classes are online via Live webinar, no in-person classes. This class is required by the court system for divorcing/separating parents, and/or those parents making custody arrangement changes. Once registration and payment are completed, the meeting invitation will be sent to you on the day/date of your scheduled class at 8:00 AM. Please be sure to check your spam/junk folder as well as your email inbox the morning of your scheduled class.

Thank you for your interest in MercyOne's Children in the Middle class. Children in the Middle classes cannot be held on hospital property and will be instead conducted via Live Online Zoom meeting.

Registration and payment can be accomplished online. This class is required by the court system for divorcing parents, parents who are not married but have a child together or those making custody changes. However, anyone involved in the care of a child can attend the class. ($25 for other family members). Be sure to include case #, and county where filed. This class is required by the court system for divorcing/separating parents, or any parents/gaurdians making custody arrangement changes. However, anyone involved in the care of a child is welcome to register and participate in class. We are not able to accept registrations over the phone. When registering online please be sure to include a case #, and the county where your case is filed if taking the class by court order, and any attorney information. If you are not using an attorney please type 'blank' or 'none' in the attorney sections. If you have any specific questions please email childreninthemiddle@mercyoneiowa.org. Once registration and payment is completed, you will receive a receipt/confirmation email, but the Zoom meeting invitation will be sent to you on the day/date of your scheduled class.

How to be prepared for class:
This is a court required class, your device’s camera will need to be on during the entire class to ensure everyone is participating. There will be times of discussion, taking notes, and answering questions throughout the class so please be available in a place with minimal noise and distraction. Although this is an online webinar, remember that other participants can see and hear you, so your distractions can affect them. Working on other things, cooking, pets, dogs, etc. are best left out of regular classrooms, so if you're not able to give your full attention to the online class please reschedule to a different Wednesday evening. Above all, please do not attempt to participate in class while you are driving or riding in a car, you will not be allowed to join or remain in class and will instead be asked to reschedule for another Wednesday class.
