Admission Process

In order to be admitted to MercyOne Genesis Behavioral Health Care you need to complete a formal evaluation or assessment to determine if you meet the criteria for an inpatient stay on our unit. If you are having a mental health emergency please visit the nearest Emergency Department or call 911.

Behavioral Health Services

Half of all Americans will experience a mental illness during their lifetime. Mental or emotional problems affect all aspects of our lives. We may become so overwhelmed that we cannot function in our daily lives. Signs and symptoms indicating an illness may include one or more of the following:

• Suicidal Behavior and/or Threats
• Violent Behavior
• Sleep or Appetite Problems
• Severe Agitation
• Medication Noncompliance
• Severe Mood Swings
• Excessive and Uncontrolled Anger
• Hearing Voices
