The Cardiac Rehabilitation program at MercyOne Genesis Heart Center program offers specialized education, exercise and counseling individually tailored to the needs of those with cardiovascular disease. Cardiac rehabilitation is recommended for individuals following a heart attack, bypass surgery, stent placement, valve replacement or repair and for those with stable angina or heart failure. The Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehab Program is offered at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center. Unlike traditional cardiac rehab programs that focus mostly on physical exercise, Pritikin promotes recovery through three pillars – regular exercise, heart-healthy nutrition and a healthy mindset. With the help of the Pritikin workbook, a caring Cardiac Rehab staff and interactive classes, you will find new insights and support to manage your heart condition. A doctor’s order is required for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. Our staff will work with you and your physician to determine the program appropriate for your need.
