Chrysalis Foundation recently awarded MercyOne Des Moines Foundation a grant for MercyOne House of Mercy. Chrysalis Foundation, a public charity based in Des Moines, awards grants to community organizations that help deliver the foundation’s mission to ensure safety, security, education and economic empowerment to girls and women. In addition to grant funding, House of Mercy will receive education, coaching and additional support from Chrysalis, including emergency funds for client needs.

“Chrysalis Foundation is proud to support and partner with House of Mercy,” said Terry Hernandez, Executive Director of Chrysalis Foundation. “Our organizations share similar goals to empower girls and women. House of Mercy helps women and their families who are going through some of their most challenging times, and we are proud to support this life-changing work.”

House of Mercy is part of MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. It offers substance-related/addictive disorders treatment and mental health programs to individuals and families in need of these critical services and supports.

Chrysalis grant funds will be used towards operating support. “Funding support for general operations at House of Mercy is greatly appreciated, and always needed,” said Rebecca Peterson, director of House of Mercy. “Philanthropic contributions are vital in allowing us to carry out our important mission and to provide an array of services to meet the many needs of our clients, including parenting education, on-site child care, and education and employment assistance.”
