Mercy Foundation has been awarded a $100,000 Financial Security Major Gift grant from Principal Foundation for House of Mercy. The grant will be used to enhance and expand self-sufficiency and financial stability programming provided at House of Mercy.

House of Mercy is part of Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines, a nonprofit Catholic health care provider serving Greater Des Moines with exceptional care for thousands annually. House of Mercy offers substance-related/addictive disorders treatment and mental health programs to individuals and families in need of these critical services and supports.

Principal Foundation grant funds will be used to support House of Mercy in:

  • Building partnerships with employers to increase training and employment opportunities for clients.
  • Incorporating new and evidence-based assessments and technology training tools.
  • Extending self-sufficiency counseling to the growing number of substance abuse and mental health outpatient clients.
