Health Insurance
MercyOne Des Moines provides residents health insurance options partially funded by MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. Residents may choose from three health insurance plans that best suit their individual and/or family needs. Residents also have two options to choose from for dental and vision coverage.
Life Insurance
Residents are provided with group life insurance in the amount of two times (2x) their annual salary. Additional life insurance for the resident, spouse, and/or children, may be purchased for an additional cost.
Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance
Residents receive both short-term and long-term disability insurance coverage at no cost. This insurance provides income if a resident is away from work for more than seven calendar days due to a non-work related injury or illness.
Time Off
All residents receive 20 days of paid time off per year.
Continuing Medical Education Allowance
All residents received a $800 CME allowance annually.
Resident License Fee
All residents receive a one-time $149 resident license fee reimbursement.
Lab Coats
All residents are provided with lab coats.
Meal Allowance
All residents receive an annual meal allowance to cover meals, while on-duty, the medical center’s cafeterias.
Parking
All residents may park on-campus at no charge.
Fitness
MercyOne provides an on-site gym with 24-hour badge access. There are exercise machines, free weights, and lifting equipment.
