employee reliefThrough all of life’s circumstances, our MercyOne Des Moines family is there to support each other in our greatest times of need. The Employee Relief Fund at MercyOne Des Moines has supported thousands of colleagues during such times.

The Employee Relief Fund was established more than 20 years ago to assist colleagues experiencing hardship or special circumstances in need of financial assistance. At MercyOne Central Iowa, our colleagues are our biggest asset. This last fiscal year, 12 colleagues were supported through this fund during their time of need.

Examples of recent fund distribution include supporting team members whose houses were damaged during the 2020 Derecho, helping a colleague who is caring for a terminal family member and more. The Employee Relief Fund is an important resource for our colleagues during these tough and unexpected times.

Gifts made to the Employee Relief Fund during the 2021 Annual Campaign directly support MercyOne Des Moines colleagues during their time of struggle.

“In these continued uncertain times it is important we support and lift each other up,” said Shannon Cofield, President of MercyOne Des Moines Foundation. “Giving to the Employee Relief Fund is a unique way our colleagues can do just that.”
