At the MercyOne Dakota Dunes Breast Care Center, we have been providing mammography and related women’s imaging since 1989. We focus on all aspects of women's breast health and have established a reputation for excellence in breast care in the Siouxland area.

Our services include 2Dand 3D screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, abdominal ultrasound, ultrasound guided breast biopsy, stereotactic guided breast biopsy and MRI guided breast biopsy.

Hologic 3D Mammograms

MercyOne Dakota Dunes Breast Care Center now provides advanced screening for patients with higher breast density. With a Hologic 3D Mammography exam, radiologists can scan for cancerous tumors with more accuracy than a 2D scan. Dense breasts can be difficult to scan, as they show up white in other scans, often hiding tumors.

The Hologic 3D mammogram is FDA-approved as a superior scan for women with dense breasts and has been shown to find up to 65% more invasive breast cancers than other scans. Additionally, it is a much faster scan, so patients spend less time under compression.

FDA guidelines show that there are four levels of breast density, and the more dense, the more difficult it is to scan for breast cancer. At MercyOne Dakota Dunes Breast Care, we believe a Hologic 3D exam is essential to give our patients and their providers a better picture of breast health.

The MercyOne Dakota Dunes Breast Care Center is the only ACR Breast Center of Excellence in the tri-state area. This designation represents ACR accreditation in mammography, ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy and breast MRI. Our board-certified radiologists, Dr. Fahima Qalbani, Dr. Adnan Qalbani and Dr. Jill Vecchio, are the most experienced in Siouxland.
