Our emergency medicine team uses state-of-the-art equipment and training to provide emergency care around the clock. Whether you've been involved in an accident, become ill or have other emergencies, our knowledgeable and compassionate team can help. - Our department treats about 10,000 patients each year.
- ER physicians are available 24-7.
- Our department has nine beds in all, with three trauma/critical care beds (all with cardiac monitoring capabilities), a mental health/behavioral health room, an OB/GYN exam room, and four general exam rooms. Eight out of nine rooms have cardiac monitoring capabilities.
- All our ER nurses are certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) and have completed the Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC). They are also HAZMAT-certified to deal with situations involving hazardous materials.
- MercyOne Newton is certified to treat and stabilize any trauma patient, and will coordinate the transfer of the patient when needed.
- Our ER is fully computerized, giving physicians immediate bedside access to patients' electronic medical records. Our physicians also use an electronic dictation system that assist in efficient patient documentation. We also offer telepsych services for behavioral health patients.
