Sara Douglas-Poock, ARNP, is a provider at MercyOne Bluebell Road Family Medicine.

She found her calling in fifth grade. “I remember having human anatomy class, and I loved it. I knew then I would be in health care somewhere,” said Sara.

She received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Iowa before becoming a nurse practitioner. She’s a lifelong learner, most recently studying taekwondo.

Patients like how Sara explains things in a way you can understand. “I just like talking to people. It gives me great pleasure when I can help them,” Sara said.

Sara is married and her three sons are now adults. She likes to crochet and donate baby blankets, enjoys distance swimming and loves her pets.

This provider is usually able to see me quickly when I need apprs. I am grateful for the care & concern given. I feel this provider kistens to me with understanding. She explains things & gives options so I can decide what is the next best step. She also provides quick necesary referrals to specialists. She helps me stay current with blood tests & annual physicals. Most of all she has patience for all the questions & number of issues I bring up.

We did great together for my health but time for me to move forward to someone closer to where I live and I feel comfortable with too I went to urgent care here one day and decided I would ask if she would be my doctor now that I live here and she said sure
