Michael Del Rio, MD, is a cardiothoracic surgeon at MercyOne North Iowa Heart Center.
“I am passionate about improving standards of care through communication with my patients about treatments and procedures,” said Michael. “I joined MercyOne because of my unity with it’s mission to provide excellent care to our community.”
Michael received his undergraduate degree from New York University in New York, New York. He received his medical degree from Cornell, in New York and attended his General Surgery Residency at Maimonidies Medical Center in New York. Michael attended his cardiac surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia, in Richmond, Virginia. Michael is especially interested in complex cardiac surgeries.
“I enjoy challenges and complicated cases as your cardiothoracic surgeon,” said Michael. “Caring for you as a patient and helping you live your best life keeps me motivated to serve you.”
Outside of work Michael enjoys art and researching innovative cardiovascular technology.
