Breastfeeding and lactation care
MercyOne North Iowa's Breastfeeding and Lactation Care team provides support to all breastfeeding parents across North Iowa. We offer a variety of options to connect with our International Board-Certified Lactation consultant and our certified lactation counselors.
As you consider your choices, feel confident knowing we are here for you, whether you choose to feed your baby breast milk, formula or a combination of the two.

Awards or Accreditation
Safe Sleep Certified Hospital
MercyOne Birth Center is proud to promote safe sleep for our newest patients by implementing:
- A safe sleep policy statement incorporating the Infant Safe Sleep guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
- Training for staff on safe sleep guidelines, the hospital’s safe sleep policy, and the importance of modeling safe sleep for parents.
- Education opportunities for parents on the importance of safe sleep practices and implement these practices in the hospital setting.
