Annette Corbett, MPT, CSMT, specializes in physical therapy care at MercyOne Indianola Physical Therapy.
Annette’s philosophy of care centers around patient education and how a person can protect themselves with a better understanding of body mechanics, especially when it comes to their spine.

I enjoy educating patients about their medical/physical conditions and how they can best help themselves, in addition to what I can do for them in the clinic. I truly believe that the more control a person has in regard to their own care and understanding of their issues, the better they will respond to treatment.
Education allows for better management of chronic conditions and for people to protect themselves from recurrent injuries. I am also passionate about understanding how the brain controls pain.
Working at MercyOne allows me to stay focused on the quality of care I provide my patients rather than being pressured to meet higher patient volumes. I am also allowed the opportunity to further my clinical skills and knowledge base by having continuing education costs covered, partnered with an allotted amount of education days each year. This allows me to further my knowledge without the worry of cost or taking personal time off.
Annette grew up in Brooklyn, Iowa, and then attended Central College in Pella, with a major in Biology and a minor in secondary education. She taught 7th grade science for two years before attending The University of Iowa to pursue her Master's degree in PT. She has worked for MercyOne since graduating in 1997. She enjoys staying busy with her kids' activities outside of work. She most enjoys working with patients struggling with neck pain and/or headaches. She also enjoys post operative shoulders, knees, ankles and hips. She likes being able to help patients set goals and return to the activities they enjoy.
