Cole Strain, ARNP, specializes in pulmonary and critical care at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
“I love getting to meet new people and learn about their cultures,” said Cole. “I also love developing a personalized care plan for each patient and seeing them improve every day.”
Cole continues, “I worked at MercyOne as a travel nurse in August 2022 and fell in love with the culture of the institution. I learned that MercyOne truly cares about the community and their colleagues. I am happy to be adding my passion for patient care to the MercyOne team and culture.”
Cole grew up in a small town in west Texas, where he graduated from high school with just 11 people. He received his bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees from Angelo State University. He has worked as an intensive care nurse for most of his career, as well as caring for patients in the emergency department, progressive care unit and pediatrics intensive care unit.
“I am incredibly excited and humbled to be part of the pulmonary critical care team at MercyOne,” Cole said.
