Dr. Holdiman has practiced general Internal Medicine for the past 40 years in Sioux City. During his many years of service, Dr. Holdiman has served a member, President elect and President of the MercyOne Medical staff, Chairman of the Bylaws Committee, Member of the Iowa Board of Medical Examiners, Medical Director of Home Health and Medical Director of Hospice of Siouxland.
Dr. Holdiman, a native of Waterloo, Iowa is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then attended Law School at the University of Iowa before being drafted into the Army in 1969. He was stationed in Yuma, Arizona until 1970. After his military service, Dr. Holdiman went to medical school at the University of Iowa, graduating in 1976, then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Holdiman was presented the 2019 Dr. George G. Spellman Annual Service Award by the MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center Foundation. Named after the late Dr. George G. Spellman, a longtime Sioux City physician, the special award recognizes community members or groups whose generosity with their time, talent and treasure exemplifies the values of MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center.
