Daniel Lamptey, MD, is an infectious disease specialist. He has been with MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center and in the Siouxland community for several years.
Dr. Lamptey attended the University of Ghana Medical School in Accra, Ghana and completed his residency training at Michael Reese Hospital – University of Illinois in Chicago. He also completed his fellowship in infectious disease at Washington University School of Medicine - Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
“An infectious disease diagnosis can be a difficult one for a patient. But when you get to be the reason that someone has a smile back on their face after completely recovering, that’s really rewarding.”
Dr. Lamptey is passionate about general infectious diseases, HIV and caring for patients with prosthetic joint infections.
He said he loves working at MercyOne because of the wealth of knowledge from providers in the organization.
