Danielle Ries, DPT

I provide Physical Therapy services in an acute care setting to patients while they undergo medical treatment for illness or injuries while in the hospital. I work as part of the interdisciplinary team to help patients regain their independence in functional mobility and safety while also monitoring their acute medical conditions. If patients cannot return home at the time of medical discharge, then I help make recommendations for additional services post-acute and appropriate level of care to help patients continue towards their goals. My professional focus and interest is in Early Mobilization in the ICU and cardiopulmonary diagnoses. 

I have always been interested in the medical field, specifically biomedical human function. Physical Therapy focuses on the rehabilitation of functional mobility by teaching patients how to utilize their body the way it was designed to be used. I also get to spend more time with my patients than other areas of the field to help make an impact on their quality of life.

I enjoy the challenge of helping those patients who are highly medically complex still benefit from therapeutic mobilization. It is really rewarding to be a part of an interdisciplinary team to help patients make those small and large gains in all areas of their recovery.
