Jeanna Becker, PT, DPT

“Kids are incredibly resilient and fun!” This is just one of the things Jeanna Becker, PT, DPT, says makes her day great as a pediatric physical therapist at MercyOne.

“Pediatrics is such a broad spectrum. One day I’ll work with a 4-week-old baby. Another, a young adult in their early 20s. It’s all so rewarding to have a hand in their success, especially throughout different stages in their life, at achieving a new skill.”

Jeanna graduated with her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Iowa. She received her bachelor’s degrees in biology and athletic training at Northwestern College. Jeanna also has additional training in torticollis, a rare condition in which the neck muscles contract, causing the head to twist to one side.

“One of my favorite moments of my career so far was working with a baby with torticollis. They’re now able to hold their head, and it’s no longer tilted and rotated to one side. Getting to see that progress and where they are now, makes it all worth it.”

Jeanna is passionate about working with pediatric conditions such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Spina Bifida.

Jeanna loves working hand-in-hand with the kids and their parents to set goals that are most meaningful to them. She has completed the Building Blocks for Therapists course and holds a membership in the American Physical Therapy Association.

Outside of work, Jeanna is active in coaching gymnastics and volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
