Kristen Hightree, OTR/L

For the last 15 plus years, Kristin Hightree, OTR/L, has been working with children and their families to improve their daily lives. She’s an occupational therapist at MercyOne.

“I get to work with kids of all ages every day. It’s the highlight of my day. Every kid is different from their age, their condition and their abilities.”

Kristin graduated with her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Creighton University. She also holds a certification in interactive metronome, an evidence-based training and assessment tool which is shown to improve cognition, attention, focus, memory, speech and language and more.

“I think its amazing to be able to not only work with the child as the actual patient, but with the family as well. I’m able to help make functional gains in their daily lives at home which helps to improve their overall experience together. Seeing a child make progress on a condition is the best part of my job.”

Kristin is passionate about helping kids with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorders and cerebral palsy. She also enjoys helping to develop their handwriting skills and working on food aversions which is a strong dislike to a particular food.
