Nicholas Kohles, MD, FMCSA

Nicholas Kohles, MD, FMCSA, is board-certified by the American Academy of Family Practice and by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He’s originally from Aberdeen, S.D. and earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota. He was a member of the original F.A.R.M. (Fronter and Rural Medicine) class while at USD and enjoyed getting to know and provide care for multiple generations of local families in the Milbank, S.D. area. He completed his residency at Tripler Army Medical Center while serving on active duty. He settled in Siouxland with his family after transitioning to the Army Reserves in 2024.

He’s passionate about rural health and comprehensive primary care, including pediatrics, general medicine, gynecology, pain management and behavioral health. He’s certified in battlefield acupuncture, an auricular (ear) acupuncture style developed for pain management. Auricular acupuncture has also been shown to help with stress, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Kohles is certified by the the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration which enables him to perform physical exams for commercial motor vehicle drivers (DOT physicals).
