Shantila Caston, MSW, LISW, is a counselor at MercyOne Waterloo Behavioral Health Care.
“There is no counseling method that works for everyone. During your counseling visit, we’ll work together to develop your unique goals and a plan to help you achieve them,” Shantila said.
Shantila grew up in the Cedar Valley and earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Shantila counsels patients with a broad range of concerns. She specializes in trauma-informed care.
“It’s important to move past the stigma and take care of your mental health,” she said.
Shantila gives back as a board member for community nonprofit organizations serving children and adult survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault, and their families.
