I decided on a career in occupational therapy as I wanted to improve the lives of individuals and assist in allowing them to return to doing what they need and want to do following an unforeseen life event. My goal is to improve myself daily to ensure each patient is receiving the best care. I strive to ensure that I continue using evidenced-based practice to provide the best outcomes and results of each individual. I enjoy seeing the excitement of patients when they meet their goals and are able to return to their daily lives to the best of their ability. It is so rewarding to see the progress that patients make throughout their time with therapy. I strive to provide the best possible care to each patient with respect, understanding and patience. My goal is always to assist patients in helping them make the best progress possible while allowing autonomy in each individual plan of care.

I currently practice in the inpatient rehabilitation setting while additionally seeing outpatients. I see patients for several diagnoses and use various intervention practices as appropriate for each patient. I also complete pre-driving assessments with patients to determine safety and fit to return to driving.
