General Radiology:
- All imaging exams are interpreted by our board-certified radiologists. After interpreting the exam, our radiologists will send the report to your physician who ordered the test. Your physician will then share the results with you.
- Some imaging exams require the patient to be fasting or have some type of lab test or bowel prep. If your exam or procedure requires you to have some type of preparation, your nurse or your doctor's office staff will discuss it with you.
- In some instances, you may be required to sign consent forms for your imaging procedure. This will be done only after the procedure has been carefully explained to you.
Interventional Radiology:
Interventional radiology is a sub-specialty of radiology involving the use of image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. The procedures are usually minimally invasive, meaning the physician uses radiology procedures, rather than having to open the body surgically, which results in minimized risk to the patient and better outcomes. These procedures have less risk, less pain and less recovery time in comparison to open surgery.
Interventional radiology is used in a vast, ever evolving array of medical conditions including diseases of the vascular, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, musculoskeletal and central nervous system.
