Please complete each step as you prepare for your clinical experience with MercyOne.

Step Three: Name Badges

Whenever you are on facility grounds, wear your PHOTO school ID badge. In addition, some sites issue site-specific badges. You MUST return these at the completion of your experience.



If you do not have a photo ID from your college, contact Allison Heit at allison.heit@mercyhealth.com for nursing students and Rhonda Wehling at Rhonda.Wehling@mercyhealth.com for all other students.

Step Four: Department Orientation

  • Access and print a Department Orientation Checklist to be reviewed and completed on the unit/department.
  • Online orientation is only the first step in your orientation. In addition, you must complete a department orientation and return the Department Orientation Checklist to the academic affiliations coordinator.

Step Five: Parking

If attending Waterloo Medical Center, all students and instructors are to park in the San Marnan Lot (located south of the "Patient Entrance" and adjacent to MercyOne Waterloo OB/GYN, 432 King Drive).

Step Six: Confirmation of Online Orientation

Confirmation of steps one through five: My electronic signature is my attestation that I have read, understand, and agree to be bound to the student requirements listed in steps one through five.

Review of Online Orientation information including information about:

  • Confidentiality
  • Anti-Harrassment

The online orientation is only the first step in your orientation to MercyOne. In addition, you must complete a Department Orientation and return it to the student coordinator listed on the website.
