Research

During the first year, residents learn how to review journal articles and present research with a critical eye.

During their second year, residents choose an area of interest and develop a quality improvement project. Third year residents have the choice of completing a second quality improvement project or developing an IRB approved research project.

Residents all have the opportunity to share their research with others during our annual research symposium. We also encourage residents to share their research at national conferences. More than 10 projects in the last 5 years have been presented at national conferences. Two projects have also earned top awards from AAFP.
