50 Years

MercyOne Des Moines Foundation is excited to celebrate 50 years of impact in 2023!

Since 1973, the Foundation has raised more than $200 million from generous donors to meet community health needs and ensure high-quality care in Central Iowa. Throughout the last 50 years we have had the privilege to support the life-saving work being done at MercyOne.

The Foundation is committed to securing vital funding for MercyOne to serve with fidelity to the Gospel as a compassionate, healing ministry of Jesus Christ to transform the health of our community. Gifts made to the Foundation serve our community’s most immediate health needs with innovative, personalized care through MercyOne Des Moines and West Des Moines Medical Centers, MercyOne Children’s Hospital, MercyOne Iowa Heart Center, MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center, MercyOne Ruan Neurology Care, Mercy College of Health Sciences, MercyOne clinics and more.

There is so much to be proud of over the last 50 years. In addition to funding countless vital, innovative pieces of equipment, programs, assisting colleagues during their time of need and more, the Foundations has helped fund or fully fund the:

  • MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center
  • MercyOne Comfort Health Center for Women
  • MercyOne Katzmann Breast Center
  • Ronald McDonald House at MercyOne Children’s Hospital
  • MercyOne Children’s Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) remodel
  • MercyOne House of Mercy dining room remodel
  • And many more!

The Foundation would like to thank all of our generous donors who make the work we do possible. Every gift makes an impact on the lives of the patients we see and improves the health of our community.

Keep an eye on our website and social media throughout the year as we share interesting history, exciting news and more as we celebrate 50 years.
