Lab Services at MercyOne Elkader Medical Center

MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is a board-certified medical laboratory dedicated to providing prompt and accurate test results. Accredited by CLIA, our laboratory professionals are responsible for working efficiently behind the scenes with highly automated and advanced technologies.

The staff provides  accurate, timely results, which plays a vital role in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of a disease. Signed lab orders are accepted from any provider.

Wellness Testing at MercyOne Elkader Medical Center

Want to be more health-conscious and knowledgeable about what is happening in your body? MercyOne can help. We are pleased to offer a program where you can come to the laboratory and receive wellness screens without a physician's written order. Wellness Testing allows you to manage your health and health concerns. Testing is not meant as a substitute for regular medical care; it is a quick, easy, and inexpensive way for you to receive direct access test results.
 

Test Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments needed. Call 563-245-7033 to schedule an appointment.

  • A physician’s order is not required for these tests.
  • Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • If you are 18 or older, or parent/legal guardian of the person under age 18, you are responsible for the follow up of abnormal results.
  • Payment in cash, check or credit card must be received at the time of service. Your insurance will not be billed.
  • The results will be sent directly to you within one week of collecting the specimen. You are encouraged to share these results with your health care provider.

Waiting two weeks for testing after the resolution of any acute disease is recommended to avoid falsely elevated results.

*Lipid Panel $30

  • Triglyceride
  • Cholesterol
  • HDL Cholesterol
  • LDL Cholesterol (Calc)
  • Cholesterol/HDL Ratio (Calc)

 * Individual should be fasting. Fasting, for the laboratory, means no solid or liquid food for 12 hours and no alcohol 24 hours prior to specimen collection. Water should be taken in normal amounts. Continue your medications as directed by your provider.
