Do my employees need appointments?
Appointments can be scheduled, but are not required. Our staff will assist you and your employees with scheduling appointments and making sure your employees are in and out within a timely manner.

How do I start using MercyOne North Iowa Occupational Health?
That’s easy. Call MercyOne North Iowa Occupational Health at 641-428-5244 or return the enrollment forms to discuss your company’s needs. Our staff will explain our services, clinic and fees. Once you have an account set up, you can begin using our services.

Can I send employees to your clinic prior to setting up an account?
You may access our services prior to speaking to a representative or filling out the profile form if needed. You will be contacted after the employee visit to set up an account.

I want to start drug testing at my company, can I just send employees in for this service?
It’s important to set up a drug testing policy at your company and inform your employees of the policy change. We ask that you contact your company attorney for assistance in writing your company’s drug and alcohol testing policy and help you determine what drug tests that will benefit your company.

My company has several shifts and works weekends, if an employee gets injured when MercyOne North Iowa Occupational Health is closed, where can I send my injured employees?
MercyOne North Iowa Occupational Health offers Urgent Care. Providers at Urgent Care are capable of seeing any work compensation injuries during business hours. They are unable to provide any work restrictions needed so a follow up appointment with MercyOne North Iowa Occupational Health would be needed. After Urgent Care hours, employees are treated at the MercyOne North Iowa Emergency Care. MercyOne North Iowa Occupational Health will receive the work-related emergency department reports and will contact your company with any follow up needs.

What happens with the post-accident drug screens and breath alcohol tests when a patient has an injury and MercyOne North Iowa Occupational Health is not open?
Post-accident drug screens and breath alcohol tests can be requested after hours by presenting to the Emergency Department. You will need to have a supervisor accompany the patient, along with the patients picture ID, and any chain of custody forms and collection supplies. The MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center lab staff are all trained and certified to perform these services.
