About the William J. Semon Family Resource Fund
A cancer diagnosis changes everything.
In an instant, priorities are shifted from routine activities to the sole focus of fighting cancer. The William J. Semon Family Resource Fund supports cancer patients with the additional financial burdens and added expenses of cancer treatments, co-pays, travel, medication and nutritional supplements.
The founder of the Semon Fund, Linda Semon, knows this all too well. The fund was established in 2011 in memory of Dr. William J. Semon, a gastroenterologist at Iowa Digestive Disease Center at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. Dr. Semon served patients and families for over 25 years and passed away from pancreatic cancer. He was a very compassionate and generous person, and his wife, family and friends honor his memory through this fund.
Since its creation, over 850 cancer patients have been impacted through the Semon Fund.
If you would like to make a difference in the life of someone fighting cancer, please consider donating to the Semon Fund. Your donation directly impacts patients in their hour of need.
