Central Community Hospital Foundation History
Central Community Hospital Foundation's Role
The Central Community Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization formed to provide appropriate avenues of funding for MercyOne Elkader Medical Center’s patient services, capital expenses and equipment needs. The Foundation has its own Board of Directors made up of individuals who volunteer their time and talents to the Foundation.
It is only because of the many dedicated individuals, organizations and families who faithfully support the Foundation that it has flourished. As we look forward to new and exciting developments, we extend our sincere appreciation to all our friends for their generous support.
The Central Community Hospital Foundation Board of Director members are careful stewards of funds entrusted by our valued donors.
They are volunteers whose generous donations of time, experience, knowledge, and energy contribute to the Foundation’s success.

Central Community Hospital Foundation Endowment
The Central Community Hospital Foundation established an endowed fund within the Clayton County Community Foundation (CCFF), an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.
Annual distributions from the endowment will directly support local health care improvements for years to come. Gifts to the new fund will be eligible for Endow Iowa, which is a 25% State Tax Credit. Endow Iowa is a financial incentive for individual donors, families, and businesses to create or build endowments, thereby giving back to their community with annual distributions, forever.
The Central Community Hospital Foundation Board established the endowment as a savings account that will bless health care in the community forever, under the umbrella of the county community foundation. Keith Garms, Chair of the Central Community Hospital Foundation said, “This fund has been started so more people can donate to the endowment, support the hospital, and also take advantage of the 25% tax credit the State of Iowa is offering to support Community Foundations.”
