Radiologic Technology Program (X-ray)
In the fulfilling career of a radiographer you will perform x-ray examinations, assist Radiologists in various medical procedures using state-of-the-art equipment, work in a caring environment, and have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics. MercyOne North Iowa provides the following information to help you make an informed decision about a career in health care.
Since 1947, MercyOne North Iowa has offered instructional and clinical training program to those who wish to become registered as radiologic technologists.
Since 2010, MercyOne has had an articulation agreement with North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) for an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree for applicants without a prior degree. All schools of radiologic technology may voluntarily seek programmatic accreditation from the JRCERT. The JRCERT promotes excellence in education and enhances quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of educational programs. The JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for the accreditation of educational programs in radiography.

The JRCERT has defined not actively seeking employment as: 1) graduate fails to communicate with program officials regarding employment status after multiple attempts, 2) graduate is unwilling to seek employment that requires relocation, 3) graduate is unwilling to accept employment, for example, due to salary or hours, 4) graduate is on active military duty, and/or 5) graduate is continuing education.
