Ultrasound
Ultrasound, also called sonogram or sonography, is an examination that uses high frequency sound waves to produce images of organs and vessels within the body. These images provide information to the radiologist and physician in diagnosing and treating diseases. Ultrasound differs from most other imaging modalities in that it does not use any type of radiation or radioactive material. Please note, pediatric ultrasound preparation/procedures may differ slightly.
