Clinical Facility
The Family Medicine Center, located in the Forest Park Medical Building (map below), is a model office for the training program and is located on the MercyOne campus attached to the main hospital. Our patient mix consists of individuals of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, and socio-economic status. An experienced and competent staff supports residents and faculty in the care of their patients.
The Family Medicine Center provides the resident with experience in ambulatory care with an emphasis on continuity of care of the family as a unit. The program stresses the problem-solving process in the management of the patients’ care.
The Family Medicine Center is equipped for comprehensive education and health care. The patient care areas include 14 examination rooms, two treatment/procedure rooms, and an office for counseling. In addition there is a modest laboratory, where the usual routine office tests can done. More extensive laboratory studies and radiologic diagnostic tests are available at MercyOne Medical Center - North Iowa.
Each resident is provided a laptop computer with onsite and remote access to the EMR. The resident officer provides each resident their own work station.
