Chad McCambridge, MD
Program Director
Dr. Chad McCambridge became the Program Director at MercyOne Family Medicine Residency on March 1, 2011.
He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Iowa College Of Medicine. He completed the MercyOne Family Medicine Residency in Mason City, IA in 2004. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. McCambridge has been in private practice the last 6 years practicing full spectrum family medicine including teaching medical students and residents at MercyOne Family Clinic-Regency in Mason City. His medical interests are in obstetrics and chronic disease management.
Dr. McCambridge is married with two sons. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his family in his spare time.

Patrick Courtney, MD, FAAFP
Assistant Director
Dr. Courtney went to the Medical University of South Carolina, graduating in 2013. He returned to the Midwest for residency at the Lincoln Family Medicine Program in Nebraska and then worked for four years at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa doing full spectrum family medicine before joining the faculty here in 2020 . Dr. Courtney enjoys practicing and teaching the full scope of practice available within family medicine, especially office procedures and quality improvement. He runs the monthly simulation sessions.
Outside of work, Dr. Courtney enjoys running, spending time with his family, volunteering with Scouts, and learning new things.

Crystal Menken, Psy.D.
Assistant Director
Crystal Menken, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and the Behavioral Science Coordinator at the MercyOne Family Medicine Residency program.
She graduated in 2007 with a Doctor of Psychology degree from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, MO. She worked in outpatient community mental health for five years prior to joining the Residency program in January of 2012. Her clinical interest is in treatment of children.
Dr. Menken is married and has three children. She enjoys spending time with her family in her spare time.

Christopher Morse, DO
Assistant Director
Dr. Chris Morse graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in May 2004. He completed the Northeast Regional Medical Center residencies in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine in 2008. Dr. Morse was in private practice prior to joining the Family Medicine Residency Program as an Assistant Director. His medical interests include osteopathic manipulative treatment, patient education, and preventative health care.
Dr. Morse is married with one child. Outside of work, Dr. Morse enjoys canoeing, reading, cooking, and church activities.

Josue Santos, MD
Assistant Director
Dr. Santos went to the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, graduating in 2017. He then attended the MAHEC (Mountain Area Health Education Center) Hendersonville rural Family Medicine Program in North Carolina before joining the faculty here in 2020 . Dr. Santos enjoys the practice of full spectrum family medicine and providing individualized care for patients and their families.
Outside of work, Dr. Santos enjoys building and flying radio-controlled aircrafts, spending time with his family, swimming and finding new home improvement projects to work on.

John Swegle Pharm. D.
Clinical Pharmacist
Dr. Swegle graduated from Drake University College of Pharmacy in Des Moines in 1992. He received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in 1996 and completed a pharmacy residency in family practice at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He is also Board Certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist and ambulatory care pharmacist by the Board of Pharmaceutical specialities. His medical interests include geriatrics, psychiatry, and patient education.
Dr. Swegle joined the residency faculty in 1997. In addition to his residency responsibilities he serves on the faculty of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. He is a past recipient of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy "Teacher of the Year" award.
Dr. Swegle is married with three children. He enjoys golfing, sports, and outdoor activities

Jessica Robison
Program Coordinator
Jessica came on board February 2022 as the new Program Coordinator. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Kaplan University in 2008. She plays an active role in facilitating the residents’ training during their three years here in Mason City. She arranges and schedules clinic time and rotations, maintains communication with community physicians’ offices, hospital administrative staff and coordinates other residency educational responsibilities and events. In addition, she also coordinates resident recruiting, schedules interviews and makes arrangements for resident applicants.

Jerrold White, MD
Assistant Director
Dr. White is a 1987 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine located in Iowa City. He completed a residency in family medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. White spent two years splitting time between private practice and teaching before joining the faculty full-time in 1992. He has completed faculty development education through Duke University. His medical interests include preventive medicine and smoking cessation.
Dr. White is married with four daughters, one son, two son-in-laws and two granddaughters. He enjoys sports, baseball history and card collecting, music, bicycling. and touring our national parks.
