MercyOne Elkader nurses recognized as 2023 Great Iowa Nurses

Elkader, Iowa, February 1, 2023 – Two nurses from MercyOne Elkader Medical Center were recently recognized as 2023 Great Iowa Nurses. Lael Aspenson, RN, and Sandy Phillips, RN, were announced as the recipients in a press release issued by the Great Iowa Nurses Program.

Each year the program honors Iowa nurses for their significant contributions to the nursing profession. Recipients are awarded based on their excellent service to patients, leadership, and mentoring or serving as a role model. Nominations are reviewed by a committee of individuals from a variety of health care organizations across Iowa.
