Our birth center is designed to provide a home-like,non-medical setting for your birth experience while still having access to advanced medical care in the event more specialized care is needed.

Should your baby need advanced care, be assured MercyOne North Iowa's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has the advanced training and technology to provide the care you need for a pre-term or sick newborn, staffed 24-hours by Pediatric Hospitalists.
MercyOne North Iowa Breastfeeding and Lactation Care provides support to all breastfeeding parents across North Iowa. We offer many options to connect with our International Board-Certified Lactation consultant and our certified lactation counselors including inpatient and outpatient support, classes and support groups.
MercyOne Birth Center is proud to promote safe sleep for our newest patients by implementing:
A safe sleep policy statement incorporating the Infant Safe Sleep guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Training for staff on safe sleep guidelines, the hospital’s safe sleep policy, and the importance of modeling safe sleep for parents.
Education opportunities for parents on the importance of safe sleep practices and implement these practices in the hospital setting.
Home care for newborns and parents
MercyOne Home Care provides in-home nursing for newborns, supporting you and your family for all your care needs. We specialize in pediatric skilled nursing care, neonatal care, ventilator and tracheotomy care, gastric feedings and infusion therapy. Skilled nursing visits provide education or training for those that are medically fragile. MercyOne Home Care provides short term intermittent visits to accelerate recovery at home.
