The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit, national body that oversees the safety and quality of health care and other services provided in accredited organizations.
By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission‘s national standards for health care quality and safety, MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center (including MercyOne Waterloo Cancer Center, MercyOne clinic locations, MercyOne Waterloo Home Medical Equipment, Kimball Ridge Center, Occupational Health Partners and Laboratory) and MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center and Oelwein Medical Center Laboratory have earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™.
MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center is recognized as a 2014 Top Performer in The Joint Commission’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures® program. The hospital is one of only 1,043 hospitals in the United States to achieve this distinction based on excellence in accountability measure performance.
Waterloo Medical Center has been recognized for its achievement on the following 2014 accountability measure sets: heart attack, pneumonia, surgical care, and perinatal care. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to assuring that evidence-based interventions are delivered in the right way and at the right time - because it's the right thing to do for our patients.
