Pediatric Rehab

In this section

Having a child with a developmental disability can be challenging and overwhelming, for both the child and their family.

MercyOne Pediatric Rehabilitation focuses on achieving the highest level of functioning for children with disabilities. Each child's therapy regimen is tailored to meet his/her unique rehab needs.

Therapy may include speech, occupational and/or physical skill development. Therapists use treatment interventions that include the patient's family, as well, to encourage ongoing skill development in the home. These are the types of therapy offered through MercyOne and the areas they focus on:

  • Speech therapy facilitates the development of speech, language, eating and swallowing skills
  • Occupational therapy helps children improve their fine motor, self-help, developmental, sensory skills.
  • Physical therapy assists children with developmental complications, and helps them develop strength and skills for gross motor activities.
