MercyOne Vascular Services offers vascular screenings without a physician referral. The three tests available are virtually pain free and can help identify if you are at risk of stroke or heart attack.

• Carotid Artery Screening: Ultrasound scan of the carotid arteries that screens for buildup of fatty plaque - the leading cause of strokes.

• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening: Ultrasound scan that screens for the existence of an aneurysm (enlargement) in the abdominal aorta that could lead to a ruptured aortic artery.

• Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening: Screens for peripheral arterial disease in the lower extremities. An abnormal result may indicate a risk for peripheral arterial disease and an increased risk of coronary artery disease.
