MercyOne Scholars Program
MercyOne Scholars is a program offered by MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center to assist individuals who are pursuing degrees in health care. The program offers financial assistance for select educational programs (see list below) where there is a forecasted need or hard to recruit positions. These health care careers may change from year to year based on the projected needs of MercyOne North Iowa.
MercyOne Scholars is available to anyone who is interested, once they have been accepted into an educational program. Qualified applicants complete a process that includes an application, references, official transcripts (minimum 2.5 GPA needed), an assessment tool, an acceptance letter into the program they are pursuing, and a personal interview.
MercyOne Scholars will cover the cost of tuition; and for some programs, a living allowance is available (up to $12,500 per year).
There is an employment commitment for MercyOne Scholar participants to fulfill depending on the level of financial assistance they receive. (1 year of service for every $2500 dollars received, for most programs).

- Histotechnician
- Nursing - BSN
- Pharmacists (Previous experience with MercyOne as a technician/intern is preferred.)
- Physical Therapist (PT)
- Respiratory Therapists (Living allowance offered)

Fall Semester = deadline May 31.
Spring Semester = deadline November 30.
(no application deadlines for all other MercyOne Scholar programs)
